Your care table
| Topic | What to do | Why it helps |
|---|---|---|
| Position | Sunny outdoors, acclimatise to stronger sun. | The grey-green texture needs enough light. |
| Hanging | Attach securely and within watering reach. | Consider container and wind load. |
| Water | Supply the root ball after it dries well. | Small hanging pots have limited reserves. |
| Rain | Check wetness and drainage after rain. | Roof cover and an exposed corner act differently. |
| Soil | Draining mix with structural components. | Air at roots matters in a hanging pot too. |
| Pruning | Remove damaged shoots, let healthy ones hang. | The overhanging form is intended. |
| Nutrition | Restrained during growth according to the label. | Do not drive excessive soft growth. |
| Winter | Keep the small root ball protected and not constantly wet. | Do not interpret garden hardiness as an exact container frost limit. |
Check the compost and pot weight. The care table explains how far the compost may dry.
Water only when needed. The water should reach the root ball without spilling over the rim.
Remove surplus water from the saucer or cachepot. Then return the plant to a suitable position.
A stonecrop need not stand upright
Dense grey-green shoots fall over the hanging-pot rim. Their narrow fleshy leaves look almost like little needles at first glance. In the light they form a quiet silvery texture. The shop explicitly offers Sedum reflexum as a trailing form in a hanging pot. In specialist sources the related name group is also encountered as Sedum rupestre. This portrait follows the grey-green assortment plant and does not turn it into yellow-leaved Angelina. Hanging shoots matter just as much as flowers an established plant can develop in summer.
Total length is the appropriate measure for a hanging pot
The offer specifies a fourteen-centimetre hanging pot and roughly twenty-five to thirty centimetres total length. This is not converted into upright height including a long hanger. When hanging it, check load capacity, hook and watering reach. The pot must stay secure in a gust too. A low position in a sunny garden spot may be nicer than a very high decorative hook where no one checks soil. Hold the plant by its container when unpacking. Fine shoots are neither handles nor strong cords for pulling it out.
A sunny outdoor position reveals the texture
The stonecrop suits a bright sunny position outside. Acclimatise gradually to stronger light after transport or shade. A dark indoor room is not an equivalent substitute for long-term outdoor cultivation. Observe rain and wind as well as sun. Beneath a roof, the hanging pot remains dry despite a wet garden day; in an unprotected corner the same pot can be constantly soaked. A considered position combines the lovely silvery effect with a root zone that really can dry again between waterings.
Succulent shoots need drying soil
Check the root ball and water when it has dried well. Then supply all the soil while excess drains freely. Despite fleshy leaves, a small hanging pot has no unlimited reserves. Inspect more often in warm drying wind than in a cool rainy week. Constant small top-ups do not replace that check. Soft dark patches call for closer examination of persistent moisture. Lower shoots should not lie in a decorative cover filled with rain. A hanging container also needs functioning drainage.
The hanging pot develops its form with few interventions
A draining mix with mineral structural components suits better than heavy permanently wet soil. During growth, feed restrainedly according to a suitable fertiliser label. A pot change follows root space and stability, not merely the wish for a larger decorative basket. Remove damaged shoots cleanly. Healthy hanging branches may keep shaping the rim. If the plant moves into a well-drained border, actual width determines space needed. No precise final cultivar height or rigid spacing series is invented for this unnamed hanging form.
Winter in a container is a separate care situation
The species group includes hardy garden plants, but a small suspended root ball is more exposed to weather than roots in established ground. Position the hanging pot sheltered in winter and prevent prolonged wetness. No exact frost limit is guaranteed for this particular pot group. A root-ball check remains worthwhile on dry frost-free days too. A side photograph and note of actual shoot length are useful in the plant book. Yellow summer flowers may provide an extra pleasure later; they are neither needed in every picture nor promised for the young delivery condition.
One plant, several views

Good to know
Are thirty centimetres the upright height?
The specific offer gives total length for the hanging plant.
Is it yellow Angelina?
The portrait describes the grey-green shop form, not a confirmed Angelina.
Can the hanging pot stay in a dark room?
For long-term cultivation, a sunny outdoor position is appropriate guidance.
Must I cut back hanging branches?
Healthy branches may keep shaping the rim; intervene only according to condition or space needed.
Why protect the container in winter?
A small suspended root ball is more exposed and can stay wet for a long time.
