Your care table
| Topic | What to do | Why it helps |
|---|---|---|
| Light | Position bright and indirect. | Lower leaves should receive light too. |
| Root ball | Keep slightly moist but not waterlogged. | Support moisture does not replace soil checks. |
| Watering | Supply slowly and let excess drain. | The cover must not form a water reservoir at the pot base. |
| Support | Keep the moss pole stable and guide shoots loosely. | Ties must not cut in during growth. |
| Soil | Use an airy draining aroid mix. | Roots need support, moisture and air. |
| Fertiliser | Dose moderately during growth according to label. | Vein markings need no extra treatment. |
| Pruning | Shorten only specifically and wear gloves. | Plant parts and sap can irritate. |
| Winter | Keep warm, reassess consumption. | Less light may slow drying. |
Check the compost and pot weight. The care table explains how far the compost may dry.
Water only when needed. The water should reach the root ball without spilling over the rim.
Remove surplus water from the saucer or cachepot. Then return the plant to a suitable position.
Batik draws along leaf veins
A dense pale network runs across the green arrow-shaped leaves. Cream-white markings follow branching veins and look different from large random white patches. Young shoots accompany a moss pole so leaf surfaces are visible at different heights. Beside a bright reading console, this slender plant can grow upwards well. The trade name Syngonium purp. Batik remains understandable as an assortment designation. The portrait describes the assigned Batik plant without inventing an additional uncertain species from the abbreviation.
Total height includes the moss pole
The offer stands in a 16-cm pot and is described as roughly 80 cm total height including support. An individual leaf or free shoot is therefore not also eighty centimetres long. When unpacking, hold the pot and check the support is secure. Leaves are not tied tightly apart for a more even picture. A first whole-plant photograph in the plant book records the young form. Syngonium leaf shape and habit can change during development; a juvenile leaf is not an immutable template for all subsequent growth.
Bring light onto the vein network
A warm bright indoor position with indirect daylight suits indoor cultivation. Avoid hot direct sun after shipping. Look at lower leaves too: behind furniture, part of the crown may be markedly darker than the tip. Consider cold draughts and directly rising heater air. Concentrated fertiliser treatment does not bring out leaf markings. Healthy new foliage is a better measure. A calm position makes comparison of new and older leaves easier without mistaking every light change for a colour change.
Check root-ball moisture and climbing support separately
During growth, keep soil slightly moist but not permanently saturated. Check topsoil and container weight before watering slowly. Excess must drain and be removed from the cover. The moss pole must not conceal the actual root-ball condition: a dry support surface does not prove dry roots. Guide shoots loosely. Inspect ties during development so they do not cut in later. A well-guided plant can keep growing without needlessly bending leaf stalks or pressing them against support.
Airy root space accompanies development
A loose draining aroid mix gives roots support and free drainage. Repot slightly larger only when genuinely needed. During active growth, feed moderately according to the fertiliser label. If an overlong shoot is shortened, work cleanly and selectively rather than cutting every leaf into shape. Gloves are sensible. Syngonium contains irritating calcium oxalate crystals and is not suitable for eating; keep it out of reach of children and pets. Flowering is not promised on the young offer. Leaf markings already carry the portrait.
Keep observing Batik in winter
The plant stays warm and frost-free indoors. Less daylight changes consumption; reassess moisture and growth before further supply. While gently dusting, check undersides, shoot nodes and support contact for small scales or cotton-like deposits too. Whole-plant and vein-network close-up photographs complement each other in the plant book. Compare pictures in similar light. A slightly differently shaped new leaf is considered in relation to development and position before several care measures are changed at once.
One plant, several views

Good to know
Are the white lines random patches?
The assigned Batik plant shows a branching pale vein network.
Are 80 cm the free shoot height?
Total offer height includes the moss pole.
Must I infer an additional species from purp.?
The abbreviation is documented as a shop name without adding an uncertain species.
Can a dry moss pole trigger watering?
Check the root ball separately; it may still be moist.
Is Syngonium suitable for pets to nibble?
No. It contains irritating calcium oxalate crystals and is placed out of reach.
