Your care table

TopicWhat to doWhy it helps
LightPlace brightly with indirect daylight.A position deep in a dark room leads to weaker growth.
WaterLet upper soil dry and also check inside the root ball.Thick stems and roots do not tolerate permanent wetness.
DrainageWater slowly and thoroughly, then remove excess from the cachepot.Standing water can damage roots.
SoilUse structurally stable, freely draining houseplant soil. The root ball needs moisture and air together.
WarmthKeep warm and frost-free year-round; avoid cold draughts.Dracaenas are sensitive to cold locations.
FertiliserDose according to the label during visible growth.Fresh soil and slow winter growth call for adjusted amounts.
RepottingMove to a suitable next size in spring when root space is densely filled.A very large amount of new soil stays moist for a long time.
CareClean leaves with a soft damp cloth; place beyond pets’ reach.Dust hides foliage; plant parts are not suitable for eating.
1. Check moisture

Check the compost and pot weight. The care table explains how far the compost may dry.

2. Water slowly

Water only when needed. The water should reach the root ball without spilling over the rim.

3. Let it drain

Remove surplus water from the saucer or cachepot. Then return the plant to a suitable position.

Pale lines make green look lighter

White Stripe displays its distinctive feature directly on its leaves. Fine pale lines run between green tissue from the leaf base towards the tip. Long leaves initially stand upright, then bend softly sideways. They create a lively crown that looks good beside a quiet wooden wall or simple console. We enjoy looking at an individual leaf because its pattern is not identical everywhere. Natural differences belong to the foliage. The home scene retains the original’s narrow pale stripes rather than inventing stronger variegation.

The chosen delivery size gets its own place

The shop lists White Stripe as Dracaena deremensis; botanically it belongs to the Dracaena fragrans group. Choices cover about 70 to 90, 90 to 110 or 130 to 150 cm total height. Order availability and the specific variant are stated with the relevant offer. The original image shows several sizes side by side. It is an overview, not a three-piece set delivered together. Our scene uses one smaller plant in a decorative cachepot. Before choosing, measure not only height but also the space beside the console. Leaves should hang freely rather than brushing edges every time someone passes.

The stripe pattern needs bright everyday surroundings

White Stripe suits a warm spot with enough indirect daylight. A bright space beside a window is often more suitable than a decorative corner deep inside a room. After transport, increase hot direct sun slowly or shade it during intense hours. The narrow pale leaf areas should not be unnecessarily stressed. Cold draughts and a position directly above a radiator are also unfavourable. We check a new position over the course of the day. Morning light may be gentle while the same corner becomes hot or almost entirely shaded in the afternoon.

A large cachepot sometimes hides too much water

Before watering, let upper soil dry and also check the inner root ball. A still heavy, moist pot gets time. When water is needed, water slowly and thoroughly and let excess drain. Then look inside the cachepot rather than confusing the decorative outer pot’s weight with soil condition. Use suitable low-lime water at room temperature where possible. A small note about light and drying initially helps more than a fixed weekly amount. We adapt the supply to this plant and its position, not the number of free days in a calendar.

Roots and leaves do not grow to our schedule

Structurally stable, freely draining houseplant soil provides a usable foundation. Only when root space is densely filled, carefully choose a suitable next pot size in spring. Support stems rather than pulling leaf tips. A very large new pot can stay moist for a long time and makes checking harder. Dose nutrients according to the label during visible growth, accounting for fresh pre-fertilised soil. New leaves appear in the crowns and gradually extend the plant. Delivery height is therefore no unchanging final measurement. Later, planned pruning can guide the shape if needed.

Clean foliage keeps the fine lines visible

A soft damp cloth removes dust without hiding the leaf pattern. Gently support each leaf from below. Do not pull open young rolled leaves or cut healthy foliage to shape. Completely dead lower remnants can be removed. Brown tips may relate to water quality, salt accumulation and unfavourable moisture. They are no unambiguous single message. Consider soil and position together before several interventions. Do not eat plant parts and place beyond children and nibbling pets. The right position also takes life around the plant into account.

Move calmly through the darker months

In winter, White Stripe stays warm and as bright as possible. Less new foliage and a slower-drying root ball usually call for less water and feeding. A move into brighter surroundings must still not expose it to cold draughts. Occasionally inspect the leaf crowns and undersides so pests are noticed early. An older leaf may age while fresh foliage develops. We prefer following this development to correcting every small blemish at once. The fine lengthwise lines make observation pleasant: a new leaf brings familiar green yet its own pattern.

Good to know

Are the pale stripes normal?

Yes. They belong to the leaf appearance of the White Stripe offered in the shop. Their width can vary naturally.

Does the shop image include three supplied plants?

No. The image shows different size variants. You order one plant in the chosen size.

Which heights are available?

About 70–90, 90–110 or 130–150 cm total height; check current order availability in the offer.

Does it need direct midday sun?

A bright position with indirect daylight is more suitable. Avoid hot direct sun after transport or acclimatise slowly.

Why wait despite a dry surface?

Considerable moisture can remain inside the root ball. Check surface, pot weight and root space together.

Can I fix brown tips with more fertiliser?

Not automatically. First check water quality, salt accumulation, root-ball moisture and position.
